Berkoa Machine Tools, a cooperative located in Elgoibar, specializes in the manufacture of machine tools adapted to the specific needs of each customer, thus fulfilling our motto “You name it, we make it!”. Within its range of customized solutions, its rotary friction welding machines stand out, an advanced process for joining materials that the company has perfected for various industrial sectors.
Rotary friction stir welding uses rotation and pressure to generate the heat needed to join materials. The welders stand out for their reliability when joining the same or different materials together, such as forging and steel in the automotive sector, F114 and HSS in tooling, or aluminum and copper in the electrical sector.
One of the outstanding features of these welding machines is the BLSC 4.0 registered controller, developed by Berkoa in collaboration with its technological partner Lortek. This system makes it possible to manage the welding process with great precision, capturing data in real time to ensure traceability. It also facilitates the storage of key parameters of each part, such as pressures, RPM, distances, times, etc., which improves the quality of the process and favors its constant optimization.
Among the welding machines manufactured by Berkoa, the two-post automatic welding cell with robotic loading and unloading, delivered to NTN; the two-post welding machines also delivered to the GKN Group, and the BFW40/2000 model with integrated turning for burr removal supplied to the renowned tooling company IZAR Cutting Tools, from Amorebieta, stand out. In addition, Berkoa’s facilities house SoldAvanza, a machine and test bench available for subcontracting, prototype manufacturing, trials and testing, which continues to drive the development and improvement of welding solutions.
Berkoa Machine Tools will participate in the Unire fair, dedicated to Welding and other joining technologies, which will take place from March 18th to 19th in Irun. Berkoa’s team will be present at the stand of its technology partner Lortek, located in Hall 1-10, to offer customized solutions for a variety of industrial sectors.
