On 18 February, our colleague Olatz Alberdi was recognised at the ‘Gu Herriko Stem Emakumeak’ event, held at the Herriko Antzoki in Elgoibar. This tribute was given to the 39 women who form part of the network created in 2019, including Olatz, for their dedication to voluntary work with young people in the Bizilabe programme. This programme, promoted by Elhuyar, seeks to strengthen the link between education and the scientific field, promoting the participation of future generations in the STEM world.

During the event, Olatz, together with other women who participate in this network, was recognised for her effort and commitment, becoming a reference for girls and women in the science and technology sector. In addition to the awards ceremony, the event included a round table on the role of women in science and technology, in which some of the winners shared their experiences.
